If a building is built using solid wall or hollow block construction methods, cavity fill is not an option. Internal Insulation (dry-lining) which involves fixing insulation to the inner surfaces of your external walls is one of the alternatives available to you. Internal insulation is a more affordable option than installing external wall insulation. The main difficulty associated with the installation of internal insulation is the disruption that can be caused to the client while the work is being carried assuming the building is being occupied at the time.

Attic spaces are an area where substantial amounts of heat are lost in any given building. Typical heat losses are in the arena of 25% of the overall heat loss of a building. Attics can generally be insulated retrospectively with little or no inconvenience to clients. Attic insulation is generally the least expensive to insulation systems to install with the present insulation requirement being 300mm of rock wool insulation.

Insulation of attics qualify for SEAI grants when installed by SEAI approved contractors.
